In this, Alison Lohman has to escape from her controlling and dangerous mother Michelle Pfeiffer who's still trying to control her life though incarcerated for the murder of Billy Connolly. This happens with help or hindrance of various foster families, which include Robin Wright Penn and Renée Zelleweger and fellow inmate Patrick Fugit.
